We work closely with the parish church in Groby to provide activities for children & young people within the village.
There are regular Friday meetings for children of upper primary & secondary school age (Years 5 to 11) which are run using resources supplied by Urban Saints. These are fun & informal sessions where young people get the chance to relax, spend time together & share some food.
The Churches Together in Groby group also run monthly ‘Open the Book’ assemblies in all of the local schools & have organised special events such as ‘Journey to Bethlehem’ where local primary school children are invited to attend.
Our own Sunday morning activities for children, Y.Church, provides age appropriate teaching and nurturing for under 5’s to 14 year olds using Urban Saints ‘Energise’ material. The children and leaders join us for our worship time at the start of the main service before leaving for their session. Y Church aims to follow similar teaching themes to those used in the service so the whole family are learning about the same topics.
There is also a creche for babies and toddlers where they are cared for and can play with the various toys while their parents enjoy the main service.
Noah’s Ark is a group that meets in the Church hall on Monday mornings & CATCH meets on Friday mornings. Both groups aim to create a welcoming and friendly environment, where adults can come with their babies and toddlers to relax and feel comfortable while their children play and enjoy crafts.
Our child protection officers are Rachel Parker, Helen and Ric Fracchia.
